What a year. I’m going to take a moment to take stock of what we’ve survived through and who we’ve lost. Getting to the end of 2020 has been an accomplishment with a dash of luck. Thank you to the healthcare, utility, delivery, and all the essential workers who have kept chugging at it this year. To the protestors, the poll workers, union-makers, and those who have had to fight tooth and nail to make it through the year: you are seen. You survived. Here is hoping that the seeds we’ve sown in 2020 will help us build a better 2021.

SWORD & BOARD BOOKSHOP

Supporting independent publishers, authors, and bookstores is something we strongly believe in here at Sword & Board. One of the ways we’re doing that is with our digital storefront at Bookshop.org. Bookshop provides an alternative to the big digital storefronts for online book shopping. It provides a means for local, independent bookstores to sell books online in an easy-to-use shop. It also allows authors like myself to have a storefront without requiring that I keep my own inventory. I get to keep a larger percentage of my book sales through purchases made through the Sword & Board shop. If you are looking for ways to spend Christmas money on books, please consider ordering through Bookshop. There is an easy tool to find local bookstores. It’s helped me find shops I would never have otherwise.

THE DYING SUN HARDCOVER PREORDER

Thank you to everyone who has been here along the road to publishing the hardcover. It had been a huge learning curve, we have many notes on what to do better next time.
